The founder of the PMC "Wagner" Yevgeny Prigozhin is very similar to such a historical figure as Stepan Razin. This comparison was made by the writer Zakhar Prilepin, RIA Novosti reports.
Prilepin wrote a new novel about Razin. The presentation took place a week ago.
"In the 17th century, Stepan Razin launched a campaign against Moscow. He, one might say, was, like Yevgeny Prigozhin, a statesman, a diplomat, and the head of a private military company. He marched on Moscow and captured territory roughly equal to the largest European countries," the writer noted.
He was also struck by how cyclical everything is in Russian history: both events and personalities. Let us recall that Prigozhin died in a plane crash on August 23, 2023.
